When looking for a place to stay in San Antonio, you may want to stay in the center of it all on the San Antonio Riverwalk. I wanted to experience the riverwalk as well as have a luxurious stay to relax and enjoy my San Antonio city break, and I was so happy when I found the Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, one of the best boutique hotels in San Antonio offers some of the most spacious rooms with balconies on the riverwalk.
I don’t do many hotel reviews, but my stay at the Hotel Valencia Riverwalk warranted it for its location to many of the sights and things to do in San Antonio as well as the boutique luxury experience they provide guests.
Why is the San Antonio Riverwalk where you want to stay?

Everything happens along the San Antonio Riverwalk at night and it is nice that the hotel is right on the Riverwalk. It is great to sightsee during the day and be able to take a siesta during the hottest part of the day, before exploring the city’s restaurants and high-caliber gastro scene.
Right around the corner from the Hotel Valencia Riverwalk was a stop for the Go Rio River Cruises. They pick up around every 30 minutes, and the tour will go through the river and canals. Also, it was only around a ten minute walk to the Alamo “The Best Free Attraction in the Nation”!
San Antonio is also a designated city of Gastronomy by UNESCO and luckily enough some of the most desired restaurants are located along the San Antonio Riverwalk. So why would you not want to stay close by to roll back to your bed at the end of the night?
However, there is one big reason why I LOVED the Hotel Valencia Riverwalk and that was the onsite restaurant.

The Restaurant

Dorregos is an absolute gem located in the hotel right off the main lobby. There is indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the San Antonio Riverwalk.

My friend and I had an amazing experience for dinner. This Argentinian-inspired restaurant offers flavorful and juicy meat dishes. We ordered the beef tenderloin cooked to perfection served with sautéed summer vegetables and papas bravas while I got the New York Strip Steak with creamy smoked gouda bacon polenta cake and slow-roasted eggplant.
I also dined for breakfast at Dorrego’s and it was a great way to kick off exploring San Antonio.
The Bar

Naranja Tequila and Mezcal is the bar adjacent to the lobby with live music Thursday- Sunday 7:30 pm -10:30 pm. The bar closes at midnight. I was glad to be able to enjoy the live entertainment right at my hotel. Especially after a long day in the heat.
A Room With A Balcony At Hotel Valencia Riverwalk

If you are looking for a room with a balcony on the San Antonio Riverwalk, I suggest staying at the Hotel Valencia Riverwalk. I not only loved that my King room had a balcony, but it also was extremely spacious. The room design mirrors the hotel’s contemporary twist incorporating Spanish Colonial elements along with a Modern Mediterranean design.
The bed was extremely comfortable 10/10 and the sheets were extremely soft. Every night I was so glad to put my head down here. Also, I had my number one amenity in the room a Keurig machine to make copious amounts of coffee to keep me wired, I was there for work and play, so I was making use of the extra long desk in the room as well as the comfy seat!
Best hotel with a Balcony On San Antonio’s Riverwalk

If you want to enjoy the sun as well as enjoy some people watching, a stay in a balcony room here is worth it. I enjoyed my cup of coffee in the morning on the spacious balcony on the riverwalk.
I did not partake in the mini bar or the snacks, but they also have some confectionery goods in the room.
The Gym

The fitness center at Hotel Valencia Riverwalk included an elliptical machine, treadmill, free weights, a lot of room if you wanted to roll out a yoga mat, and weights/weight training balls.
In Review: Hotel Valencia Riverwalk
When looking for a hotel that doesn’t have a chain attached to it, but offers a luxury boutique experience in the heart of the Riverwalk I don’t know where else you would turn. Hotel Valencia Riverwalk has a delectable restaurant, suave rooms, and a hotel with a balcony room on the San Antonio Riverwalk is hard to pass up. While my particular room didn’t have a balcony right over the Riverwalk I was able to see it from afar as well as from the restaurant’s balcony.
I would highly suggest staying on the San Antonio Riverwalk for at least two nights, and checking out the attractions near the San Antonio Riverwalk while at the Hotel Valencia Riverwalk.
